Our Mission

Every child deserves a future they can shape, regardless of the hand they were dealt.

In communities across Ghana, thousands of young people carry extraordinary potential that the world has not yet learned to see. They are the wild cards: overlooked by systems, underestimated by markets, and too often left to navigate education, health, and opportunity on their own.

The Wild Card Project exists to change that. We work alongside young people, schools, families, and partner organizations to deliver programs in Education, Wellbeing, and Empowerment - the three pillars we believe turn potential into outcome.

We do not run charity from a distance. We show up in schools, community halls, and on the ground, building the long-term relationships that allow young people to trust, grow, and ultimately lead.

“Your future is not a distant dream. It is something you create with us.”

A promise we make to every young person we work with.

Our Work in Numbers

Small organization. Measured impact. Honest reporting.

How We Work

Three pillars. One mission.

We focus on the three areas where we believe focused, long-term work makes the biggest difference in a young person’s life.

Education program in action
Education

We work with schools, teachers, and students to make quality education a lived reality, not just an aspirational slogan. Our education programs support classroom learning, advocate against child labour, and create spaces where young people can name and claim the future they want.

  • School partnerships in Accra
  • World Day Against Child Labour advocacy
  • Quality education campaigns
Wellbeing program in action
Wellbeing

Wellbeing is the foundation everything else stands on. We run health-focused drives, from menstrual hygiene awareness to CPR and first aid training, so that young people and their communities have the information, supplies, and confidence to care for themselves and each other.

  • Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Day
  • CPR and First Aid sessions
  • Sports and movement programs
Empowerment program in action
Empowerment

We help young people see themselves as capable of shaping their own lives. Through partnerships with creatives, entrepreneurs, and mentors, we create platforms where young Ghanaians can practice leadership, build confidence, and tell their own stories in their own voice.

  • Creative collaborations with local artists
  • Mentorship and visibility campaigns
  • Youth-led storytelling

Why Youth?

Because when young people thrive, everything changes.

We focus on three areas where consistent, long-term work makes the biggest difference in a young person’s life. Click through each to see why it matters.

Education

Education changes everything.

When young people have access to quality education, entire communities rise with them. Education reduces poverty, improves health outcomes, and creates the leaders of tomorrow. Yet thousands of Ghanaian children are still pushed out of school early, into labour, or denied the basic resources they need to learn.

Why This Matters

A joyful childhood builds a confident future.

In Ghana, more than a quarter of children still live in multidimensional poverty. Many are pushed out of school early, exposed to unsafe work, or denied the basic health information that would let them make decisions about their own bodies and futures.

The Wild Card Project works at this intersection, where education, health, and opportunity meet. We do not believe in grand gestures or one-off charity. We believe in consistent presence, honest partnerships, and programs that young people can actually use.

We are still small. But every program we run is run with care, measured honestly, and delivered alongside partners we trust.

“Your future is not a distant dream. It is something you create with us.”
The promise behind every Wild Card Project program.
